Hannah & Joe’s Creative City Wedding at The Radnor Rooms, Bristol
There is something undeniably electric about a city centre wedding. When Hannah and Joe told me they were planning their big day at The Radnor Rooms, a hidden gem tucked away in the heart of Bristol’s Old City, I knew we were in for something special.
What made this wedding particularly unique was that everything was kept in-house. From the heartfelt ceremony under the venue’s iconic chandeliers to the rustic, relaxed reception, the entire day flowed seamlessly within the walls of this historic Grade II listed building. As a Bristol wedding photographer, I love venues like this—they offer a perfect blend of exposed brickwork, vintage charm, and an intimate atmosphere that makes guests feel right at home.
Exploring Bristol’s Old City
While the venue itself is stunning, the beauty of a central location is the access to the city’s characterful streets. During the daytime, we took a wander around the local area. Bristol is famous for its vibrant energy, and we made the most of the historic architecture near St Nicholas Market and the quirky alleyways that give this city its soul. These natural, documentary-style shots capture the excitement of being newlyweds in the hustle and bustle of the town.
Creative Evening Portraits in the City
The magic really happened as the sun began to set. For me, the evening is the best time to get creative. Once the formalities are over and the party is in full swing, I like to whisk my couples away for a few minutes to capture some “signature” portraits.
The urban landscape of Bristol transforms at night. Using the glow of street lamps, the neon hum of the city, and the architectural shadows of the Old City, we created some dramatic, artistic images that stand out from the traditional wedding gallery. These creative portraits are often my couples’ favorite shots—they feel modern, edgy, and timeless all at once.
